Some people mock me for it, but in a past life I was a HUGE dave matthews band fan. Well, it’s not so much a past life as I haven’t really liked an album in a while. However I’ve maintained my fan club membership since seating is based on seniority, and I make it out to a show or two every year. I caught their show in Chicago on Friday and it was GREAT. It’s rare to see a band have so much fun on stage. They’re just out their playing what they want and having their friends come out with them. It’s great to see. Even if you’re not the biggest fan, you have a great time.
What’s up ladies and fellas? as some of you know, I’ve had a grand experiment to go with no internet at my apt for a year. It sucked and is now over (this coming weekend) so I will be blogging every day about the things I find and my random whatevers. Stay tuned.
i just got some new paper samples and i’m uber excited. Due to time constraints for my last show I found a paper I liked (epson brilliant luster) and just went with that. Today I swung by calumet and picked up some sample packs and I just downloaded some profiles. Time to find an image that I like and print it over and over and over again. My first art show/fair was a great success (I think, I don’t have much to base it on). I sold a bunch of stuff, met a bunch of people, and learned a TON. I’m going to post some pictures of my booth and stuff tomorrow but the big seller is below… 
I’m preparing for my first show of my photos. I’m doing the elmhurst art fair in 2 weeks and there is a TON to do to get ready. I’m down to 150 images, I’ve got to get it to 50. And I’m going to pick up a new printer tonight (epson 3800). Then there are a bunch of supplies to get and all that good stuff. Wish me luck!
in typical fashion when i come to vegas, the first day is probably the craziest of the trip. nothing out of control happened but just lots of drinking and music. it was a lot of fun as can be seen below.
I spent yesterday at a photo shoot for one of the more interesting photographers I’ve seen. I can’t go through all the details of what we were shooting, but Tony D’Orio was the photog. A name I didn’t know until my co-workers let me know that he shot the altoids ads that were amazing. Go check out his site (tonydorio.com) it’s awesome work. I got back from houston at 1030p last night, swung by the office, packed for vegas, and the car showed up at 7a to take me to NV. Catching up on some random stuff now. Then jumping in the shower. Then Treaty of Paris at HOB. Carl was supposed to come out for it too but he slacked.
This time of year is usually busy, but it’s just insane right now. I’m currently working on 4 videos that are all due next Tuesday. Tuesday I leave for Houston and I’m there for 2 days. I come back Wednesday night, and leave Thursday morning for Vegas for a convention and some fun. I’m meeting up with my friends in Treaty of Paris on the Yellowcard/SpillCanvas/TOP tour my first night in Vegas… should be crazy. Then I fly back the following Wednesday, Hot Chip (and hc after party) is on Thursday, My Chem on Friday, The Bravery on Saturday, Mars Volta on Sunday. Then Atmosphere 4/22 and 23. Cool Kids/TOP 4/25. Ghostland Observatory 5/2. I have an art show in elmhurst 5/3 and 5/4. Tokyo Police Club 5/5. The Kills 5/9. Then trying to do Does it Offend You, Yeah? and Local H 5/13 (don’t know if i can swing both). And Thrice 5/16, 17, 18. Then 2 nights of Honda Civic. Could it get any busier? If you’re going to be at any shows, comment me and we’ll meet up.

Sooooooooo. It’s not looking like I’ll make it out to europe this year and I’m disappointed by that. As some of you know my schedule is crazy hectic at my “day job” but I’ve still tried to travel as much as possible. It’s looking like that won’t work out this year. I’m doing some fine art fairs/shows this summer and I’ve gotta pick up a new printer and stuff for that. Sooo next year it is. However on Friday we went out to Cafe Baba Riba (sp?) for my friend’s going away party. She’s transferring to our birmingham office for 2 years or so. I’m sooo jealous. And my sister is doing 2 months in Austria this summer. Jealous of that too.
